Game Based Learning MOOC

This morning I saw this tweet advertising this MOOC and signed up straight away. Looking forward to learning more and starting. Should work in well with the work I am doing with Quest Atlantis and the EGATS project.

Why don't you sign up and learn about using virtual worlds in the classroom. The use of virtual worlds in the classroom was described in detail in the latest Horizon Reports. Have you read their latest K-12 or Higher Ed report?

Tablet and smartphone kids

YouTube

I just hope that parents, grandparents, teachers and significant others can keep a balance in the next generation. It is gong to be hard but we need to think about the long term implications. Does all this technology just continue to foster an already over stimulated and spoon fed generation? We need to think how this technology can increase deeper thinking.
