ICT Skills for PSTs

With the advent of the Australian Curriculum, Graduates (preservice teachers) will be expected to have ICT as part of their Professional Standards. These are currently being worked at present. They are general elaborations so the question is, "Do the PSTs need a minimum set of skills (like a check list) that they know to be able to successfully pass their Graduate Interviews?" If so, what would this minimum skill list look like? Please add your comments and if possible a reason for your selection. We could do a separate list for tools but they change more frequently than skills, I believe. So do we need a minimum list of tools?

The Importance of Good Communication Skills

How often do we write something and post (Facebook) or click send (email) & then go back later & read it only to discover that we could have expressed ourselves much better?
Today, I was developing a rubric (in conjunction with my project leader) for a curriculum mapping exercise. I asked a colleague to pilot the instrument. Her comments were interesting as she "read" meaning into the written word that was unintended.

Thoughts and Blogging

Looking at Voicethreads for our Preservice Teachers (PSTs) to use in their course as well as learn to integrate them in the classroom.

I have seen some great examples. Now want to incorporate mobile technology as well as using them on the PC or Mac.

Has anyone else used them for Maths? Would be interested to hear your stories.

Cheers till next time.
